Cortez is easily located on the map, in SW Colorado. 

Do a quick Search for Mesa Verde National Park, and there we are. 9 miles to the West of the Parks entrance.  Town of Cortez is at a cross roads of Highway 145 (To Telluride, CO) Highway 491 (To Moab, Utah) and Highway 160 (To Durango, CO).

These Amazingly Talented and Hard Working Folk Are The Back Bone Of America and Practice a Multitude of Farming Techniques. No Two Farms Are Alike Which is The Beauty.

We Have Coolers On Board For The Safe Transport Of Your Purchased Goods.


  • Yes.  At the excursions' conclusion, we are proud to offer other food products from local farms, ranches and mills that either were not on the Excursion of the day, or prohibited due to OSHA regulations  These local products are offered as a pre-boxed assortment which may be customized or products purchased individually.
  • For the direct support of our local Southwestern Cowbelles  - Colorado Cattlewomen, we offer a large, very sturdy, canvas tote bag covered with 74 local Cattle brands to carry your purchased farm products in or for the grocery store.  
  • All proceeds from the sale of this tote bag is returned directly to the organization for the dedicated fund to promote our Youths education.  Perhaps You are supporting our next local veterinarian, that is raised here, educated and returns to this County.


  • High Country X's Progress in Elevation and May Go To 9,400 Feet But Not Above.  Although We Are Traveling, The Altitude Is Something To Be Aware of and Prepared For if This is a Potential Concern of Yours.
  • The Ability To Climb Steps Safely While Boarding and Un-boarding The X Rig.
  • Additionally, You Have The Option To Ride Inside The Vehicle Cab and Enjoy Listening To The Guide Via Our Audio System.
  • Farm Fresh X - No High Altitude Concerns - Only 1 Seat Available Inside The Vehicle Due To Ice Chests/Cooler Space.  Wear Comfortable-Durable Footwear.
  • Be Aware Of Your Surroundings On Farms-Ranches And Please Be Respectful.


If a cancellation request for a specific trip or tour is received by Wild West Excursions at least 48 hours before the departure date and time, the passenger(s)/Charter host will not be charged a cancellation fee and any payment will be refunded. 


If a cancellation request for a specific trip or tour is received by Wild West Excursions less than 48 hours before the departure date/time, the passenger(s)/Charter host will be charged a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the 25% prepayment fee for each reservation/charter or a 75% refund if paid in full at time of booking.


If a passenger has pre-paid for a call-and-demand service and is not at the agreed upon pick-up location at the agreed upon pick-up/departure time, no refund will be issued.


All passengers must electronically or physically sign the Waiver and Release prior to boarding.

No transport is authorized or permitted without this completed.


   



Registered service dogs are welcome, but unfortunately, our operating plan with the National Forest Service excludes all other dogs.  


Service dogs traveling with their masters/owners will be transported if deemed appropriate by Wild West Excursions. (See ADA Below)


"The ADA does not require covered entities to modify policies, practices, or procedures if it would “fundamentally alter” the nature of the goods, services, programs, or activities provided to the public.  Nor does it overrule legitimate safety requirements.  If admitting service animals would fundamentally alter the nature of a service or program, service animals may be prohibited.  In addition, if a particular service animal is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it, or if it is not housebroken, that animal may be excluded".  

" Under control also means that a service animal should not be allowed to bark repeatedly in a lecture hall, theater, library, or other quiet place".  

"If a service animal is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it, staff may request that the animal be removed from the premises". 


Service animals shall be under the control of their masters at all times. Wild West Excursions will not be responsible for loss or injury to these animals, nor for an injury or damage to any person or property caused by the actions of these animals.


Any physical damage to the vehicle or upholstery caused by the service animal shall be immediately financially rectified by the human owner/master without hesitation or discrepancy  to rectify damage, with respect to the visual destruction, visual observance by the Tour Guide or others on board. Price is determined by the original price costs of material and labor for exact replacement.


If another passenger(s) boarding at a later boarding time for the same excursion, deem the service animal to be 1) intimidating, 2) threatening or threatened by,  or 3) allergic to, Then transport of the service animal and owner/master may be terminated with a 50% refund, at the origin of pickup if within 3 miles of point of  additional passenger transport, any mileage over 3 miles shall be charged at an additional rate of $1.40 per mile, with the option to reschedule for a future date at the discretion of Wild West Excursions LLC dba Wild West X, per our legal authority with the State of Colorado. Replacement Cost Factors:

Upholstery cost per full replacement panel: $800.00


The Model Release Policy is a Choice to select or not select to enable photos or videos of the passenger to use their image from an excursion or experience in our marketing materials, social media or other marketing media.

If the option is selected, You are saying Yes, you may use my image, if such is desired by our marketing team.
